Why OY - et.al.

I've just finished watching the Pentrex 1991 video, "Cumbres & Toltec Scenic - Rotary Snow Plow". Wonderful production! I'm disappointed, though, that there was no explanation about the innards of the beast, nor pictures of same. The "chugging" sound certainly seems to indicate a piston-type steam engine and I assume it somehow connects to the rotary something like the drive rods to the wheels of a locomotive. Can someone elaborate?
Also, what's the significance of the designation, "OY"?
