Good eve
Thanks, Mike. Just what I was looking for. I agree, a lot of modeling assumptions have been mistakenly based on what is currently observed. After equipment has either been leased out and maintained by another line, or caretakers and clubs doing whatever they though was "right". On wooden cars this extends to items such as cast door hardware being replaced with hardware store items. One might assume correctly at the beginning of research that assumption may be all you have. Particularly if you are not willing to to eliminate possibility of
something other than standard practice having occurred with the subject in question and perhaps 50 or more years of maintenance efforts based on opinions. Besides, paint is nasty enough the first time....don't want to go back to correct it. Thanks!
