I have kicked some ideas around. I wanted to do a nice book but the price was around $30k, a non-starter with an artist's budget. I did talk to one of the editors of the Rio Grande Modeling and Historical Society's excellent quarterly, "The Prospector". UP and ATSF fans also have excellent magazines but this is exceptional. Anyway, I dicussed doing an article on the working and running the D&RGW narrow gauge 2-8-2s . Dick Dorman graciously offered some unpublished photos to boot. I would cover only what I know- and dicuss some of the improvements in appliances that were done over the years. It is unfortunbate hta only two D&RGW standard gauge engines survive. However, with over 33 narrow gauge engines preserved, a good legacy was left by the old D&RG. Thank you all for your very kind words!
