Jim Shaughnessy's book, "Delaware & Hudson" (Howell-North, 1967) has many photos of the D&H narrow guage operation at Carbondale, PA, including pictures of the little steam locomotives and the gravity railroad's passenger cars - which included excursion cars, combines, and even parlor cars with wicker seats.
Another fine book on the D&H canal and the gravity railroad sistem is "Canal Boats to Tidewater" (1981), by Manville Wakefield, the noted historian of the Ontario & Western RR. It also includes photos, maps, and diagrams of the inclined planes on the 4'3" D&H gravity railroad.
