Thanks for emphasizing the location of the CRF, Charlie. Actually, the acronym CRF stands for Car RESTORATION Facility. It was so-named to better distinguish the purpose of this facility from that of the C&TS carshop that generally handles running repairs (and sometimes heavy repairs) on the coaches and M.O.W rolling stock used in rail operations.
The Friends of the C&TS will use the CRF for long-term restoration projects involving the historic rolling stock. Building the CRF was intended to be only the first step (though a crucial one) in a larger, long-term commitment of the Friends as stewards of the historic fleet. There will be much more to come.
I'm personally very excited about what I'm seeing these days from the leadership of the Friends. Despite the temporary struggles of the railroad's train operations, it's comforting that the Friends have not lost focus on their strategic goals. This will pay big dividends in the future.
