Steven Butler and crew fired up White Pass & Yukon Route #69 Monday, August 29, 2005, in Skagway. This was the first time it has had fire in its belly since the early 1990s. The steam-up comes close to culminating a 20-month Midwest Locomotive and Machine Works restoration project that began in January of 2004. Steven will be finishing the last of the adjustments to the locomotive in the next week or so and then will turn the locomotive over to the railroad.
