The FEBT volunteer restoration continues on many projects. Window and siding work continues on the machine shop. The coal bin adjacent to the boiler house (with the twin stacks) is being reconstructed as the original was in abysmal structural condition. Side dump hopper 802 is getting literally tons of new steel installed to return it to active MOW service. Passenger flat car 119 is being redecked. Brush clearing has continued along the Rockhill wye.
This past week was a marathon effort to get the leased paint shop closer to being ready for use as a car restoration facility. Rails were relaid into the building and a new concrete floor poured around them. The track leading to the shop was rebuilt and the area groomed in preparation for future outdoor work, and restored windows started going back into the building.
Cars 18 and 29, brought back from Colorado, are still cocooned and in covered storage in Rockhill. No plan has yet been established for any work on these cars.
