Rodger,
The San Pete Valley RR Co. was a narrow gauge line built from Nephi to Wales, Utah in 1881-1882. It was built to develop coal mines near Wales in Utah's San Pete Valley. The railroad was owned by the coal company. It was extended to Manti by the end of 1894 and converted to standard gauge in 1896. It was apparently controlled by the Union Pacific in its early days and was purchased by the D&RG in 1907.
