We tested 464 today.
For the first time IN OVER A DECADE:
464 MOVED UNDER HER OWN STEAM TODAY.
Major kudos to Marty Knox and all Huckleberry RR employees past and present who have all been working so hard to get 464 ready to serve once again. The Huckleberry RR is a fine example of quality work and professional railroading.
When testing 464 tonight, we did not yet have use of the air compressor, so #2 was coupled to the front of 464, and provided the braking. 464 provided the motive power as we moved out on to the main line, then back & forth several times for about a half mile. More pictures of this will be posted in a few days.
#2 pulled the trains today, will pull them again tomorrow, and beyond that, is yet to be determined. Some more work remains on 464 before she can take over daily duties. Stay tuned...
464's fire dying at the end of the evening.
