Marc Lameroux's shay is a two-footer. It ran occasionally at the High-Country layout just west of Denver.
I can't remember where it came from, but seems like it was down southeast someplace. The first time I saw it , I was enroute from Marysville to Manhattan , Kansas and it was parked on a flatbed truck in a residential area just off Highway US-77 in Waterville, Kansas. I had no knowledge of it and talk about surprised. I made a quick turn around the block, drooling all the way.
Any of you mile-hi guys know Ed Gerlits whereabouts? He would know the history of the engine.
