Re: Carter Brothers / Ardenwood Farm

Hi, All -
In addition to the Carter Brothers RR equipment, Ardenwood is a working farm - pretty much as it was 150 years ago - with a wide variety of exhibits, farm animals, etc. It is a GREAT place to take the family for an outing if you are anywhere close to the San Francisco area (it's near Hayward, on the east side of the bay). My college-age daughter and I spent a very enjoyable afternoon there about a year ago, and got a custom-made souvenir at the blacksmith shop which is destined to become a family heirloom.
Doug Debs of the Golden Gate RR Museum first recommended Ardenwood to me several years ago, and I've been back three or four times since.
