Thanks Steve for bring out the data that has been know by only a few on the inside.
Just a few costructive suggestions; Get some of the biggest diameter Plastique bearing tester and when the #12 is on the level shop floor, put several inch pieces on the rails in front of each wheel and move the engine over them. You might find it interesting if you have any weak "weight on wheels" out of the bunch. Or if best, they all gauge out with the same compression of the plastic strips. Maybe a couple attempts could be made to see if you get the same results.
This might prove a very cheap way to scale the weight on each wheel and clue you in for any failed leaf in a spring. It might help prevent any derailment if there was very improper equalization happening. An auto part store sells those for crank bearing testing.
Have you found that you can operate your short passenger railroad without anyone ever having to ride on the side of any cars? If so, then issue a rule to prevent the use of any side ladder, stirrup or hand holds, and then paint them the way (color) they were on the old C&S tourist cars. .
Again, you are part of the best crew of the best in the country. Many thanks for saving the line and making new history.
