Of course, for authentic Fourth of July celebrations, the engines should not only fly flags but be draped in red, white and blue bunting!
But only for the Fourth. Then back to business as usual. Flags, either US or state, don't belong on locomotives except as 4th of July parade participants. I'm glad to see them gone. They ruin the photos.
