...I don't have. But about two years ago I bought a Polascan 4000 at discount because it required a SCSI interface, not USB. And it was recommended by a friend who knows a lot more about this stuff than I do. It is now discontinued because Polaroid went out of that line of business.
But I'm happy as a clam. The only thing I ever learned about Dmax is don't believe the numbers in the marketing hype. My scanner is kind of like the two Nikon 8008's that I shoot film with...I'll use 'em until they wear out.
I'm one of those idiots who believes that good photography has more to do with using what you have well than having the lastest gadget. I'm not even sure I use what I have well, but so far the results satisfy my undemanding requirements.
On the other hand one the folks on today's charter with the 18 on the McCloud had some pretty neat digital stuff. Gonna have to investigate further.
