Adam Wright wants pictures after they were converted to standard gauge. The picture of NdeM #400 in the Best book is still narrow gauge. And #400 was ex-#459 and not #458. Printed rosters usually have it wrong too. Jerry Best once told me that he was told that #458 became #400, and #459 became #401 when they first arrived in Mexico, but the few pictures taken show they were numbered just the opposite. You can make out the builders plate on #400 and it shows it to be ex-#459. And the outward canting cylinders proves it to be ex-#459 too. An earlier unpublished photo of #400, with a low headlight and different sand dome locations, bell hung in front of smokebox, and still with the original wood D&RGW cab, shows it still be be ex-#459.
