Ted,
My information came from the Edaville discussion group (go to edaville.com and look for Friends of Edaville).
Basically, Eddie Gilbert has documentation which came from George Bartholomew which outlined that 202 was originally B&SR #23. Bruce Wilson had additional information that indicated the car was built (or rebuilt) into 202 for Pleasure Island.
Personally, I'm a bit sceptical. The only way I see that it works is if the hardware from #23 was reused in #202. If Edaville left #23 alone for 20 years, it wouldn't have been in too good a shape. And extending a car isn't a matter of attaching a few boards - you've got to move the bolsters and truck attachment points, the truss rods, etc.
It will be interesting to investigate the car when it finally arrives. Which, by the way, we don't know yet when that will be.
