Car #1514 at Como is well worth saving. Its ancestry goes back to the opening of the Colorado Central. It is the oldest narrow gauge car in Colorado, it comes from the same era, within months, of the arrival of the first D&RG 8-wheeled 1500 series flat/coal and 2000 series box cars.
It is a 23 foot car and was built as a flat car in the Union Pacific shops Omaha 1872. Upon arrival in Colorado and the newly opened CC, it was converted to a box car by the Golden shops and numbered 14, the seventh CC box car.
