Bob Wright picked up his last orders.

Bob Wright passed away last week, from cancer, in Carson City, Nevada. He picked up his last train orders West. Bob was the master mechanic from 2000 tp 2002. He was contoversial, and say what you want, but he left the C&TS better than he found it. That's more than you can say about a couple of his successors.
My favorite Bob Wright story: One morning there was a double header at Chama. He saw me and another engineer tslking. In true Bob Wright style he butted in and asked, "Who is taking this train to Antonito?" "I am", I answered. "Good, I am glad SOMEBODY here knows how to get a train over the road!". "Why you no-good s.o.b...!" The other engineer ingignantly exclaimed. I tried (unsuccessfully) to suppress a good laugh! By that time Bob was stalking away. Well, that's one s.o.b. I will dearly miss. See you at the Terminal on the other side of the Great Divide, Bob! The first round at the Blue Heaven Saloon is on me!
