Since there are a few people on this forum who seem to have missed it, THE GEORGETOWN LOOP RAILROAD COMPANY INCORPORATED owned by Lindsey Ashby and Mike Greksa is dead. Kaput. It is an ex-parrot. It is not pining for the fjords, it has been nailed to the perch. It is gone. Finished. Vaglempt. The CHS killed it and those responsible should be hung by the short hairs. Most of us know this and agree.
There is no point in continuing to compare the new operator to the old one, ridership statistics, and the economic struggles of Clear Creek County will say it all. Everything else that needs to be said on that subject has been. Over, and over and over and over and over. We've compared #12 to the equipment owned by THE GTLRR Inc repeatedly, and we say the same things over and over and over and over and over. And it's even starting to get to me.
So, can we PLEASE stop repeating ourselves.
Loop related topics are certainly welcome, #12 is in the shop, that's important and has a valid place here. Why it is in the shop is important and has a valid place here. As is the current status of #9, if / when new coaches arrive etc. But to restate the obvious, that THE GTLRR Inc. would still have steam running because they had more engines and they were bigger etc. is totally redundant by now.
So, please, before you post something about the new Loop vs. the old one, take a moment and ask yourself whether you are adding anything new to the discussion, or if you're just repeating what somebody said two days ago.
Thanks
