Re: Water Tank and Caboose.

I was waiting for another EBT fan to speak up, but lacking any, I'll blunder in and I'm sure any necessary corrections will follow in short order.
All of the water tanks on the East Broad Top RR were enclosed in square tankhouses similar to that Uintah tank. They were located in Mount Union, Rockhill Furnace, Saltillo, Coles, Robertsdale, Shade Gap, and I think one on the Shade Valley branch. The Rockhill Furnace tank was removed between 1904 and 1911 based on the insurance maps. Only the Coles tankhouse still stands.
Most had small attached sheds to house the pump. I have never read or heard of any use of the lower floor of the tankhouses. The tankhouses had brick chimneys, apparently for heating stoves.
