I don't think that we had any out-side frame 2-8-0's in California.
However, there were such engines at Morenci, Arizona. One of these later went to the US Potash operation at Carlsbad, NEW MEXICO. This engine is now on display at the Pacific Coast Chapter, R&LHS, exhibit at the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds in Pomona, California.
Other out-side frame 2-8-0's were used by the White Pass and by the Burlington's operation in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
