Ed, the date on that picture is June 5, 1962. Elk River Coal & Lumber had sold the engine to Carroll Park & Western with the promise of refurbishing and painting it. This was its last day ever operating in West Virginia before shipment and conversion to 48" gauge.
Info from page 51 of Bill Warden's excellent book on W.V. Logging Railroads. Pic in the book is credited to Howard W. Ameling.
