I am wondering if anyone out in Chama area has an Indian brand backpack sprayer. These are a mainstay in all kinds of wilderness fire management. I once used one to stop a wall of fire as 7' tall big bluestem grass was marching towards me. That was in training for prairie burns with the Nature Conservancy. The sprayer is quite effective, especially compared to fire trucks which are the standard response tool for most fire stations. One accidental burn at a wet prairie site left a fire truck up to its hubs in mud, while the sprayers and rakes and other tools can do a much more effective job.
jus' wondrin.
