The Colorado Railroad Museum is looking for lots of volunteers to assist with preservation, restoration, and numerous other projects.
Projects range from painting, landscaping, machining, woodworking, working in the Richardson Library, to hosting the many tours given by the Museum each year. Under the tutelage of experienced staff, you can learn to be a brakeman - and more - for the Museum's periodic operating sessions.
Required skill levels range from (practically) non-existent, to experienced, to anywhere in between, and plans are in work to set up a 'walk-in' project list for in- or out-of-state volunteers who might have a few hours available.
Click on the link below and visit the "Volunteer Information and Current Restoration Projects" page. It's your opportunity to help preserve a piece of Colorado railroading history.
(You must be at least 18 years old, or at least 16 with a parent/guardian, to volunteer.)
