Rodger I understand what you are saying, “why didn't the camerma just turn around, photograph this or that. IF it were possible, I would put myself in a plastic bubble (so as to not interact) and go back with modern camera and video and take those shots. I attend an Historic Baker City annual meeting last night, and one of our early residents, went on to a career in the movies, and at the time 1910, had just finished studying with G. Eastman and had made a movie of his family. Again, if he would have just went downtown, instead of 20 minutes of mom and dad. (that was great none-the=less.
Just an aside.
