I suspect it's April Fools, but it's at least semi-plausible. That's probably what makes it a good April Fools joke! The CCRG has been looking at steamers for some time, and I remember something about them inspecting a former LS&I unit last year. I'll be danged if I can find where I read that, though.
I'd be completely shocked if it actually happened, but not at all disappointed. I spent several summer days chasing 1522 around the midwest when I was younger, and would love to have it in my backyard and running again.
