An SVRy member has recast some of the plates for our engines and we have them for sale. He was able to get a donation from a supplier of the materials for making the molds as I recall. The individual teaches high school shop to support his rr vocation and has made the repro plates as a cooperative venture in his shop classes to benefit both the shop program where he teaches and to benenfit SVRy. I believe the plates he has made are all in aluminum, or something I think he called aluminum bronze and are marked reproduction on the back as I recall. Maybe Taylor can help me out as to which plates he has made copies of. I believe 19's number plate is one because I asked him if it would be feasible to modify his moulds or pattern to make a plate for 20 and as I recall he said it was real doable. I don't know if he is interested in doing these plates for others, but I know years ago he did the 844 plate, or was it the 8444 plate, anyway one or the other as a volunteer.
Let's hope others out there that make copies of originals mark them "repro." or "replacement" to avoid potential scams.
