I think you're right Nathan. The mile posts on west to Durango were not changed to reflect the new mileage.
I once heard a story about the the Relocation in that the BLM in building the new line made the DRGW promise to operate over the new line for a minimum of 10 years. Of course, they didn't. I wonder how that worked out - if the story was true.
