When Ward Kimball donated the Grizly Flats collection to Orange Empire, both the "Emma Nevada" (Nevada Central #2) and the "Chloe" were included. Ward wanted to keep the "Chloe" for a few more years, as he was building some single truck passenger cars to go with her.
The "Emma" has not been steamed for many years (several stories conflict as to its last time under steam). Since she is the center piece of the collection, there has not been much movement on getting her under steam. However, several of us would love to see her steam again.
On the trackage front, the Museum is completing a major narrow gauge (36") expansion. Trackage is being built to the gallows turntable (like the one at Laws), and the track to the west of the building has been connected as well. Nearly 1000 feet of 36" gauge track has been built.
Besides the collection of cars from the Grizzly Flats Railroad, the Museum has acquired an SP box car from Bakersfield, an SP gondola, SP/N-C-O stock car, the body of the "Esmeralda", SPC Carter Bros. coach 39, and Westside Lumber caboose #7. Plus 3 D&RGW cars.
