Very close--first run was July, 1959, so this is 59 or maybe 60. I'm not sure we have determined when operations ceased, but apparently in the 60s.
What is interesting is that the coaches were open platform the whole length of both sides of each car, and that in all the pictures we have seen, there are one or more people standing on the side steps, much like the cable cars in San Francisco. I think contemporary insurance and liability people would have a fit seeing a moving train in this configuration.
And as I think about it, in July 59, the caboose was down to its floor in the shop building, and it would have been some time after that before the car was rebuilt for operation.
