History is written by the winners, as a rule, which always makes me just a tad suspicious of written history. If accurate history is important, which I think it is, it is incumbent upon us to accurately record it.
I suspect that the biased (by selective omission) timeline will not stand the test of time. With the proliferation of railroad books, usually written by rail enthusiasts, I am hopeful that an accurate history will be published that will survive to enlighten future generations.
What's done is done and if there is any hope for the Loop (which I assume is what we are all concerned about) rubbing salt in the wound by ignoring the contributions of the former operators is not a really productive strategy.
Well the Iraqis surprised the world by turning out in droves to vote. My son (a Marine in Iraq) was even impressed. Who knows, maybe the people in Colorado might do the same thing. Hope springs eternal.
