Thanks Mike for the photo! Like you said they probably could have been rebuilt and returned to service had there been a demand for more motive power. In the photos of the 1918 fire that SVRy 50 went through it looks about the same as these and of course it went on to operate possibly into the 1970's. The photos of SVRy's 1921 roundhouse fire show engines way worse. 19 and 20 don't look too bad, but the wood cabbed engines really fryed. All but one were rebuilt.
