I haven't been through there in a while, but I'm not aware of any change.
I always heard that Mr. Hallmark's wife bought them as a gift for him, with the intention of running them on a loop around their property. That never happened (zoning problem, in all likelihood).
They sit (or at least they did) within view of I-65 near the Warrior, Alabama, exit, still looking like they did in PCFLA.
You might poke around and see if you can find a Yahoo group devoted to Alabama railroading and ask there for more current information. But I don't think there's been any change.
