The late Walley Porter was also a "live steam modeler." He was a friend and travel companion of Milt Fick to live steam meetings. There ought to be a member or two of the Colorado Live Steamer's who knew Jerry, Milt, & Walley.
Also check with Robert A. LeMassena thru the Colorado RR Muesum at Golden. Bob does volunteer work at the library there several days a week. He is also the author of several books and stories on D&RGW steam locomotives. Good chance that He knew these "live steam modeler's," and where their collections ended up.
Also check with Herbert Votaw, he built 1" scale wood and metal models. His collection is on display at the Forney Museum in Denver. Herb's models will roll on scale track and the rods, pistons, drivers are all in motion! I'd bet that Herb knew all the Denver area live steam modeler's.
In Herb's collection is a model of a Santa Fe 2-10-04, this one is my favotire!
