If it is the 409 that went to Japan and was at Magic Mountain/Heritage Square, it was completely rebuilt by the Magic Mountain crew. I have a picture of the frame of the caboose sitting in MM's engine house/car shop stripped of the flooring and with several new pieces of wood framing sitting on top of the frame. So what ever they rebuilt, and I never saw the finished product, was a rebuilt version of the original car. Their engine house had 2 tracks into it and it was a rather nice set up for a small operation. I have seen operating dates for MM going to 1969, but does anyone know for sure when this operation stopped operating the 3' stuff?
