Yes, a sad day indeed! Thanks for making these images available. I still think that Georgetown, Silver Plume and the Clear Creek region haven't a clue as to what they've lost.........but they will!
Even if Railstar somehow manages to pull a steam engine out of it's magical hat and puts a train together for the 2005 season it won't be the business as usual! A railroad is more than a steam engine pulling some cars on a set of rails! It's the people involved that have put their blood sweat (and yes, tears) into an operation for 30 years and have made it into "one of the truly unique American Railroad Adventures" (exerpted from the video Great American Railroads Vol.1)
I'm not going to rant about what has happened other than to say that it was a joy to ride the Loop all of these years. I will miss this unique experience.
