"The most eye-catching collection of D&SNG rolling stock is along the west side Narrow Gauge between Ninth Street and 11th Street, on land owned by the railroad.
At the request of the railroad, the zoning designation on a little more than 1 acre of railroad property along Narrow Gauge between Eighth Street and 12th Street has been changed from "unzoned" to "parking."
Jeff Jackson, senior vice president and chief operating officer for the railroad, said Friday that the "highest and best use" for the rezoned property is not storing aging railroad cars. But it hasn't been determined if the railroads will develop the land for parking or whether it would be sold to a private or public buyer for the same purpose, Jackson said. "
