Randy and Herb,
To answer both your questions together, no, the stripes were not on the Westside equipment.
By the time that I got there (1975), only the Plume Car was on Westside Trucks (and they got changed before the end of 1976). the Tahoe Care was on the Andrews trucks by then. The Stripes were on the wheels of the pipe gons which Gene Breffle cut down and added seats too.
As I said, the only resson that I remember is because I offered to repaint the entire stripe, but Roy only wanted the white on the edds so it wouldn't show up so badly in photographs.
I was the one who cut the "Over the Loop" Stencil (and drew the original logo) and lettered the cars between trips. That first season, some trips we had zero passengers so I kept myself busy by painting and lettering equipment, (Like the "Tahoe" with the filigree around it, which somebody later "found" and highlighted with chalk dust). I saw it and asked Phil Johnson of he would like me to do it again.
Oh yes, for those of you who are old Gazette Readers, I painted the Gramps Tank Car and a bunch of other stuff in Central City, also.
