The "Sespe" was last owned by Chad O'Connor; who is most well known for building the replica locomotives at the Golden Spike site. He's also rebuilt many narrow gauge locomotives; from Michael Bonfante's two Crowns, as well as Richard May's Longview Sugar 0-4-4 and the Waimanalo #4 (aka "Deanna"), an 0-4-2T.
Chad O'Connor leased (or bought?) a spur of old track somewhere near Pasadena where he lived. He ran the locomotive there after restoring it in the 50s. His wife bought him the little locomotive as a gift...don't we all with WE had wives like that?
O'Connor also worked on the rebuilding of the "Chloe" and "Olomana" with Ward Kimball and Jerry Best.
