Dan,
The Dolores track is about 50 feet west of where the ROW lies, under CO 144. The ideal plans, are to lay rail out of Dolores, south towards Mancos. From what I have seen, after crossing the river, the track would be on original ROW. The portion in town is completely covered by modern roads. The Society had previously laid a small tangent (100 feet?) on authentic ROW at Millwood to mark the 100 year of the completion of the RGS, but this was taken up to use for the new track plans.
The Ridgway RR Museum has laid track at the fairgrounds, but I'm fairly sure it is not on RGS ROW. Maybe they have plans to. I hope they do before it is built over and lost forever.
