Regarding the new book
Next Stop Honolulu!, I think it is a good book. I would say that I had not seen about 80% or better of the many, many photos in the book (and I have the Best books, the Conde books, the little Hungerford book, etc.). The more is more than just a photo history of the railroad, it also touches on some of the social history of the island and its people. It covers the sugar and pneapple crops, etc. Also touches on the military rail facilities on the island.
The book includes locomotive and car information. There is a photo roster (with data) of the locomotives and comparative car roster summaries from annual reports. And then it finishes with excerpts from the company annual reports about its activities.
Many color illustrations. 350 pages (12"x9")
