Thank you for that responce. I got the name wrong, it is the steam powered narrow gauge I was asking about. You are of course right that the Society for the Preservation of Carter Brothers Resources at Freemont is closer to us. But it was historically and is now a horse car line. They have a neat photo essay on their web site about constructing 10 ton Carter freight trucks forone of
their box cars. Maybe SPC 472, built in 1880.
I was thinking about the steam powered Roaring Camp & Big Trees narrow gauge line. Among other things it is one of the only places that operates ng steam trains in the winter.
And it is a beautiful ride through a coastal redwoods grove. If you have the chance to for a ride during the Holidays.
