Sorry, Fritz, but I don't see the problem. Silverton is a bit like a protected reserve for the endangered species of narrow gauge (and rightfully so) but those cabooses do not constitute a threat to the native population.
By that logic, we should also demand the removal of Bob Moe's 2' gauge Tolt River RR, which runs near Carnation, WA. A couple of static cabooses are bad enough, but a complete NG railroad (operating, no less!) in predominantly SG territory is clearly a far more egregious offense.
