Looking at this picture is a lot easier than taking the 2 minutes to drive over to the engine house. From the height of the 3000 series boxcar next to the engine house, it appears these doors may be high enough. It will be interesting to check actual measurements of all the parts--493, door height, width--as to what has been listed off various plans. The doors on the right are in the best condition, and may be the bay we relay first, but there's a ton of stuff stored inside, all very heavy or fragile--like the entire post office interior that was replaced with the new post office about 15 years ago. We try not to let anything leave Silverton anymore--no more raids like what happened with Knott's Berry Farm back in the early 50s when the heritage and artifacts were all for sale to the highest bidder.
