Does anyone know the maximum height of the K-37? I measured the 493 yesterday as to width, but it was too cold and windy to figure out how to do a good job of measuring what the tallest point on the engine is--and that would be from top of rail.I assume that the stack is the highest point, or maybe the dog house? I don't have any folio sheets handy, and that informatiom may be there. I did measure a 3000 series boxcar to the brake wheel and came up with 12'3".
And why? We are looking into relaying rail into the SN engine house with a tie to the D&SNG and I'm trying to figure out if the 493 will fit in that building. We've had several discussions with the D&SNG about future work with the rail freight museum concept in Silverton, and part of the original plan was to tie the engine house back into the system.
