Numbers and smoke boxes

Arrangements have been made for the numbers on the 497 and the 463 to be restored to their traditional size and style. Don't know if this has been accomplished yet, but it is in the works. In addition the smoke box fronts are supposed to be painted a dull silver (they were black last year). The exact details of the paint jobs is open to debate, since the prototypes varied somewhat over the years.....looking at my slides from the 1960's you could find a prototype for about any combination. Last time I looked we also still had the 487 running around with the 488's tender.
