The rebuild of #2? She will need the full 1472 service day inspection required by Part 230. I'm afraid that once we inspect the boiler we will end up putting in a new rear tubesheet and at least a partial door sheet. The running gear should be pretty good, we will probably turn the tires, inspect the crown brasses, etc. The tender will get sandblasted and patched. It will probably be time for a new cab, too.
But we still have about 150 sevice days left before we have to do this. The sooner 464 is in service the longer we can stretch out those days. The 15 years isn't up until June, 2011.
