Missing San Juan Drumhead?

I was curious to know if the missing San Juan Drumhead that was lost in the avalanche was ever located? I know that many photos of the San Juan in later years one could clearly see a drum head reading "Shavano" for the then defunct train out of Salida. Is it still lying below Phantom Curve under cover of earthen debris or was it just too badly damaged in the accident to be used? Curious minds want to know. Thanks in advance for any info.
