The way I see movie history is a post script if at all.
Let me give an example from my own myseum; the Ferry EUREKA was built in 1890 and by the 1950s, she was close to retirement. She was used in the movie version of a Broadway play called Pal Joey, where Frank Sinatra sang the opening song on her deck out in the Bay.
She is preserved not because of movie making but because of 60 odd years of hard work transporting people and freight across the SF Bay.
In her early years there were tracks on the main deck and another ferry in the fleet had narrow gauge tracks.
I hope that the sale of the movie car makes lots of money for the museum
