At the present time the 4-6-0 #66 is buried upside down almost on top of
D&RG rotary ON near mile marker 4.9.The lead truck for the # 66 is sitting
up near the right of way. 2-8-2 # 196 is buried just to the north of them.
The top of 4-6-0 # 67's boiler is visible when the river is low, it is
buried near the cemetery. 4-6-0 # 62 is buried near the road out to the
cemetery. At least two tender tanks are visible in the rivers edge. They are the
two tender tanks that were uncovered in the late 80's in the weeds near
the old courthouse. 2-8-0 # 61 and 4-6-0 # 60 were stored at the north end
of the Skagway yard since they were drug out of the river in 1988.
In May 2003 the # 61 was stood upright after laying on its side since 1988,
and was sold shortly afterwards. It will be moved to Wisconsin at
Mid-West Locomotive & Machine Works <greenchili@tds.net> for restoration.
You will have to check with them for specifics
